Wall Mounting

What is wall mounting?

Wall mounting is a fastening method in which LED acoustic panels and systems are mounted directly to the wall. This mounting technique ensures a stable and secure attachment of panels, distributing the weight evenly across the wall. The system utilizes specific accessories such as hooks, clamps, and suspension wires that are specially designed for wall mounting.

Proper wall mounting is essential for the functionality of LED acoustic panels. Secure mounting prevents vibrations and movement, which is important for both acoustic performance and the lifespan of the LED lighting. Furthermore, wall mounting offers flexibility in positioning panels at different heights and in various configurations.

How does wall mounting work?

The principle of wall mounting is based on the use of specialized mounting accessories that create a connection between the wall and the panel to be hung. These accessories are first attached to the wall, after which the panel is mounted using suspension wires, clamps, or direct fastening. The choice of the correct accessory depends on the weight of the panel and the type of wall.

Various components are available for effective wall mounting. Suspension wires provide flexibility in height adjustment, while clamps offer a direct and secure connection. Tension hooks allow wires to be tightened for a professional finish. Complete suspension kits contain all the necessary parts for a specific mounting type, simplifying installation.

Types of wall mounting accessories and kits

The range of wall mounting accessories includes various types of fastening systems, each with specific features and applications. The main categories are loop hangers, self-clamping systems, tension hooks, wire and bushings, and complete suspension kits. These accessories have been developed by renowned manufacturers known for their high-quality suspension systems.

Loop hangers

Loop hangers are versatile mounting accessories that enable simple and quick installation. They consist of a metal hanger with a loop through which suspension wire can be threaded, allowing for flexible height adjustment of the panels.

Self-clamping

Self-clamping provides a direct mounting method that requires no additional suspension wires. These clamps grip firmly onto the back of the panel and can be attached directly to the wall for a sleek, flush-to-the-wall mounting.

Tension hooks

Tension hooks are designed to put suspension wires under tension, resulting in a stable and vibration-free suspension. These hooks are particularly suitable for heavier panels where extra stability is required.

Wire and bushings

Wire and bushing systems consist of high-quality steel wires combined with special bushings that create a secure connection. These systems offer maximum flexibility in height adjustment and are suitable for various panel weights.

Complete suspension kits

Complete suspension kits contain all the necessary components for a specific mounting type in a single package. These kits are designed for various wall types and panel weights, which simplifies the selection of the correct parts.

Specifications and features of wall mounting accessories

The technical specifications of wall mounting accessories vary by type and design. Important features include the load capacity, which can reach several tens of kilograms per mounting point, and the material used, such as galvanized steel or high-quality plastic. Compatibility with various wall types, from drywall to concrete, determines which accessories are suitable for specific situations.

The choice of materials plays an important role in the durability and performance of the accessories. Stainless steel and galvanized materials offer long-lasting protection against corrosion, while special coatings provide additional protection in humid environments. The dimensions of the accessories are tailored to standard panel thicknesses and mounting points, enabling universal application.

What should you look for when choosing wall mounting accessories?

When selecting wall mounting accessories, the weight of the LED acoustic panels to be mounted is a primary factor. Each accessory has a specific load capacity that must not be exceeded. The total system weight, including LED components and acoustic material, determines how many mounting points are required and which type of accessory is most suitable.

The type of wall to which the accessories are mounted is also a determining factor in the choice of accessories. Solid walls require different fasteners than hollow walls or suspended ceilings. The desired aesthetic also plays a role; some accessories are designed to be virtually invisible, while others serve as a decorative element. Flexibility for future modifications is a final consideration during selection.

Installation of wall mounting systems

The installation of wall mounting systems varies by the type of accessory and mounting method. The most common methods are screw mounting, snap systems, and in some cases, magnetic fastening. Each method has specific advantages and requires different tools and preparations.

Screw mounting

With screw mounting, the accessories are attached to the wall with screws. This method requires determining the correct positions in advance, taking into account the weight and dimensions of the panels. For solid walls, pre-drilling is necessary, followed by the insertion of wall plugs. The accessories are then secured with the supplied screws, after which the panels can be attached using suspension wires or directly.

Click systems

Click systems offer a fast and user-friendly installation method. The wall section of the system is assembled first, after which the panels can be easily clicked into the system. This method makes it possible to quickly swap or reposition panels without tools. The base system is usually mounted with screws, but once installed, no further tools are required.

Magnetic attachment

Magnetic mounting systems are available for certain applications. These use powerful magnets that are attached to the back of the panel and adhere to metal surfaces or special metal strips on the wall. With this mounting method, drilling is not required if a suitable metal surface is present. However, the magnets must be strong enough to support the weight of the LED acoustic panels.
