Panel Screw In

Permanent mounting for long-term applications

With screw fastening, stability is key. You mount the panel correctly once, and it stays put. This makes screw-in systems the logical choice for situations where panels do not need to be removed regularly. Think of acoustic panels in meeting rooms, LED panels in office ceilings, or decorative elements in reception areas.

The major advantage over click or magnetic systems is mechanical security. There is no risk of unintentional detachment due to vibrations, temperature fluctuations, or weight loads over time. For projects where reliability outweighs flexibility, this is the method of choice.

Screw mounting in practice

The basis of every screw-in system is simple: a fixing point is screwed directly into the ceiling or supporting structure, after which the panel is attached to it. Depending on the type of panel and the desired finish, various versions are available.

Recessed versus visible mounting

In some applications, it is desirable for the fastening to remain completely out of sight. Recessed screw points disappear behind the panel or are covered with a rosette. In technical rooms or industrial environments, aesthetics often play a less significant role, and a visible, robust fastening suffices.

Combination with other systems

Screw-in fastening is frequently combined with other suspension methods. For example, a panel can be secured at the top with screws, while the bottom is finished with panel cams or clamps. This offers both the stability of fixed mounting and the ability to access the rear for maintenance.

Panel cams for quick locking

Panel cams are a commonly used addition to screw mounting. These rotary locks are mounted into the panel itself and engage with a rail or bracket on the ceiling. You tighten or loosen the panel with a quarter turn. The screw fastening of the rail ensures secure anchoring, while the cam provides ease of operation.

This system is popular for LED panels and acoustic ceiling islands where occasional maintenance or replacement may be required, but daily stability is paramount.

Loop mounting as an alternative

For panels that need to hang freely below the ceiling, loop mounting offers an interesting option. With this method, a loop hanger is attached to the ceiling with screws, after which a cable or steel wire holds the panel at the desired height. The screw connection at the top guarantees a solid anchoring, while the loop itself offers flexibility in height adjustment.

You often see this method used for free-hanging acoustic panels in open office landscapes or for LED panels that need to be suspended separately from a suspended ceiling.

Material selection and load capacity

The load-bearing capacity of a screw-in system depends on several factors: the type of screw, the choice of plug, the ceiling material, and the distribution of mounting points across the panel. For lightweight acoustic panels, two mounting points are often sufficient. Heavier LED panels or large acoustic islands require four or more points, evenly distributed.

When installing in concrete ceilings, different plugs and screws are required than for plasterboard or wooden joists. Always check the specifications of the chosen system and match the fasteners to the situation on site.

When do you choose screw-in fastening?

Screw mounting is the right choice when:

• Panels remain in the same position permanently or for an extended period
• The load is high or the panel is large and heavy
• Vibrations or mechanical influences play a role
• You do not want any risk of unintentional detachment

For situations where panels are frequently replaced or where quick disassembly is desired, click mounting or magnetic systems are often more practical. Both methods have their own areas of application.
